Everyone has a story. We have one too. Check out the pictures of how it all began. See what the space looked like before it became Harbourfront Animal Hospital.
We are proud of our facilities; you wouldn't believe what it looks like now. Click below.
Finally, learn a little about the team members that promise to take the best care of your furry family members.
Harbourfront Animal Hospital opened the doors to clients on December 5 2011. Dr. Debski always wanted to run a clinic on the Toronto waterfront. Ever since he became a Torontonian he has been looking for a suitable space for the practice he always wanted. Finally, opportunity knocked and he found a small space in the Maple Leaf Quay complex back in April 2011.
After much negotiation with management, architects, and The City of Toronto, construction of the clinic started in June 2011. Finally, the clinic opened its doors in December as a full service hospital serving the waterfront and surrounding area community.
After lots of work we are proud of our facilities. Please enjoy a peak at Harbourfront Animal Hospital.
Dr. Slav Debski is the founder of Harbourfront Animal Hospital.
Before obtaining his full license in Ontario, Dr. Debski spent a year working in Grande Prairie, Alberta in a mixed practice. While working in Alberta he began his focus on small animal care.
Upon returning to Ontario, Dr. Debski entered a partnership at Ancaster Animal Hospital in Ancaster, Ontario. It was there that he developed his interest in behavioural counseling and Veterinary Emergency Medicine.
After eight years in Ancaster Dr. Debski decided it was time to move on. He established residency in Toronto where he continued practicing Veterinary Emergency Medicine full time. He dreamed of once again opening a private clinic of his own. Harbourfront Animal Hospital opened on December 5th 2011.
Outside of practicing Veterinary Medicine he likes to spend time with his wife Margaret, son Remek, and daughter-in-law Jane. He loves cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, skating, traveling, watching war documentaries, and action movies.
Margaret is the Harbourfront Animal Hospital co-founder and Hospital Admnistrator as well as Interior Decorator. She is McMaster University School of Business graduate. Margaret brings a strong client service background after working many years in retail pharmacies in the Hamilton and Burlington area. She has served clients for most of her professional life, now she joined a team and loves to serve furry patients as well.
You can always meet her at the hospital greeting customers and playing with their pets She is not the usual Practice Manager hiding behind the closed door in her office. She is very passionate about people and their pets. She loves to spend as much time as she can greeting clients, talking with them and playing with pets. Margaret loves to spent time with her husband, son Remek, her daughter-in-law Jane, and litle Maltese Dalia. She loves good food, good music and good book.
Ashley first started with us here at Harbourfront Animal Hospital in September 2016. Ashley graduated from Georgian College with Honors in April 2013. She then became fully registered in February 2014 with the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians.
Before starting here at Harbourfront Animal Hospital, she worked at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic-North alongside Dr. Debski for the first four years of her technician career.
Ashley was born in Toronto before moving to the small town of Dundalk, ON at the age of 6 with her parents and two younger siblings. Living and working off a farm helped fuel her love for all animals! Ashley loves working with ultrasound and laser therapy in the hospital.
When Ashley is not working, she loves to spend quality Netflix time with her little Chihuahua, shopping and spending time with her family.
Ashley has been a great addition to our team and Queen's Quay Family!
Dian joined the Harbourfront Animal Hospital family in September 2018 as a receptionist- she will most likely be the first friendly face you encounter as you walk into the clinic! You will often see Dian greeting clients, checking in patients, addressing any concerns or questions the clients may have, and giving lots of kisses to your furry friends! Aside from these receptionist duties, you can also find Dian in the back of the clinic helping Dr. Debski and Ashley with veterinary assistant duties.
From 2015-2018, Dian studied at the University of Guelph, majoring in Biological Sciences. She has always been an animal lover and has been passionate about veterinary medicine for as long as she can remember. To pursue her aspirations of becoming a veterinarian one day, Dian is currently in the process of applying to the Ontario Veterinary College this year... wish her luck! Aside from her passion in veterinary medicine, Dian has a range of hobbies such as cooking, working out, skiing, travelling, spending time with family and friends, and going on long hikes with Buddy and Benny- her two goofy black Labrador Retrievers!
